Saudades do Brasil is an electronic mailing list created by Tom Moore while at Princeton University. The first message was sent on January 31, 1995. The subscriber list covers the world, and the list discusses all types of Brazilian music and other Brazilian cultural topics. Subscribers exchange information about new purchases, newspaper articles, and more. In April 2001, the list was transferred to a different server. List traffic varies from day to day. At times we go by several days without a single posting. Then, suddenly, someone posts a hot topic that initiates a new thread. It's your typical mailing list.

To subscribe to the list, send a message to majordomo@lists.iecc.com. In the body of the message itself write: subscribe saudadesdobrasil. Do not add anything else. To unsubscribe from the list, the procedure is the same, except that you write unsubscribe saudadesdobrasil.

The idea of the Saudades Family Album originated with Laura McCarthy and Kevin Martin. They provided the domain and everything else. Sadly, Kevin passed away September 4, 2008. Before that, he and Laura asked me to maintain this site. So, in Kevin's honor, we're keeping his Brazilian music passion alive.
